The Lions (8-13, 4-4 SLC) fell to league leader Sam Houston State (13-8, 8-0) Wednesday at home. SLU is led by Preseason All-SLC First Team point guard Marlain Veal, who flaunts a team-high 16.4 points and 4.3 assists per game. In league play, Veal is second with 19.9 points per game and Tulane transfer Von Julien boasts a league-high 5.8 assists per game.
The Colonels are 21-25 against the Lions since joining the Southland and are searing for their first win in Hammond since 2015.
