THIBODAUX, La. – Coming off a thrilling 64-63 win over UNO, the Nicholls State University men's basketball team welcomes Abilene Christian University Wednesday to Stopher Gym for a 7 p.m. battle.

The Colonels (11-12, 4-6 SLC) victory over the Privateers snapped a five-game losing skid. What made the triumph even more impressive is that Nicholls achieved the feat with a seven-man rotation. Junior Danny Garrick knocked down a left-corner 3-pointer with 4.2 seconds on the clock to seal the win.

Garrick has been on a tear as of late, sinking 19 treys in the last four games at a 54 percent clip. Graduate transfer Jeremiah Jefferson contributed 19 points and sophomore Kevin Johnson neared a triple-double in what could be a season-defining win.

The Colonels are in ninth place in the league standings with six of their final eight games at home, including five straight to conclude the regular season.

The Wildcats (19-5, 8-3) most recently fell 90-85 to Southland leader Sam Houston State in double overtime. All five ACU starters contributed double figures, fronted by Jaylen Franklin's 20.

Jaren Lewis (13.1 ppg), Jalone Friday (13.0) and Payten Ricks (12.3) average double digits for a Wildcats squad that ranks first in the Southland in field goal percentage (.483), scoring margin (+11.0) and turnover margin (4.25).
