THIBODAUX, La. -- Monday afternoon, Nicholls State University Director of Athletics Matt Roan announced the official launch of the Gameday Experience mobile app, a downloadable and highly-personalized smartphone application created in partnership with developer From Now On.

"The opportunity to integrate this level of technology into our athletics program was an exciting leap into the digital realm, and I'm personally looking forward to our fans experiencing the benefit of the final product," Roan said. "Here at Nicholls, working to promote each and every one of our sports is a priority and is always in focus, and this app serves as a one-stop shop for everything from renewing season tickets to live score updates from any facility on campus. I'm grateful for our staff who put hours of time and energy into making this endeavor a possibility, and I remain enthusiastic about the positive impact this app will have on our fan experience."

Nicholls joins a growing portfolio of From Now On clients, including fellow Southland members Southeastern Louisiana, Abilene Christian, Lamar and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi as well as Arkansas, Florida State, Louisiana Tech, Nebraska, UNLV, Rutgers and Vanderbilt.

A major feature includes the push notification system that supports geofencing and audience targeting. Push notifications, which show up on a user's phone just like a text message, can be sent with a push of a button, scheduled in advance or triggered by score alerts during a game. In addition to a variety of notifications, the platform also includes support for streaming and social media, live stats and a variety of sport-specific content from rosters to media guides.

The Colonels Gameday Experience mobile app is now live and available via free download from the App Store® and Google Play™.
