BATON ROUGE, La. -- Less than three days removed from adding in back-to-back home matchups Dec. 27 & 28 following a two-week COVID-19 protocol hiatus, the Nicholls State University men's basketball program managed to score a key non-conference replacement game at in-state power LSU, squaring off against the Tigers on Dec. 26 (1 p.m. tipoff) at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, La. The contest is slotted to broadcast nationwide on the SEC Network.

Nicholls is slotted to step in for Texas Southern after the program was forced to withdraw from participation after entering COVID-19 protocol earlier on Thursday. Earlier this month, the Colonels were forced to cancel five matchups due to the same NCAA restrictions.
