THIBODAUX, La. -- Riding a stretch of four-consecutive home victories, the Nicholls State University men's basketball program (16-9, 10-4 SLC) seeks to close out the three-game stretch at Stopher Gym with a potential third-straight series sweep, hosting rival and current league No. 13 Southeastern Louisiana (6-19, 3-11 SLC) at approximately 3 p.m. in the latter half of a Saturday doubleheader with women's basketball.
Despite a relatively slow start, the Colonels composed a near-complete performance in the mid-season trek to battle the Lions, riding a trio of strong individual outings to a 69-58 victory. Notably, sophomore Warith Alatishe impressed with one his eight double-doubles this year, posting 14 points along with a career-best 16 boards, while junior Kevin Johnson and redshirt senior Dexter McClanahan added a combined 30 points in the only other double-digit showings for the Colonels on the day.

- This year's roster is highlighted by five newcomers, as redshirt senior G D'Angelo Hunter (West Virginia), redshirt junior G Andre Jones (Arkansas-Little Rock) & redshirt senior G Dexter McClanahan (Savannah State) all became eligible following transfers from fellow collegiate programs while sophomore G Lorenzo McGhee (Columbia State CC) climbed aboard via a JUCO program & freshman G Tyrease Terrell signed on directly from high school. On the bench, senior F Jaylen Fornes (UNC-Wilmington), redshirt sophomore F Najee Garvin (Charlotte) &Â redshirt sophomore G Isaac Johnson (Western Illinois) will sit out due to NCAA Transfer Restrictions.

With just a quarter of the the league slate remaining, the Red & Gray turn their attention to the team's final roadtrip of the regular season, initially traveling north for contests at Northwestern State (Feb. 19) and Central Arkansas (Feb. 22) before closing out the away schedule at HBU (Feb. 26).
