CONWAY, Ark. -- Fresh off a lethal 16-point rally at Northwestern State, the Nicholls State University men's basketball program (18-9, 12-4 SLC) puts the team's four-game win streak to the test in yet-another critical league contest, pushing north for a battle against Central Arkansas (9-18, 8-8 SLC) on Saturday afternoon, tipoff set 3 p.m. at the Farris Center.
In January's edition of this same matchup, the Colonels managed to weather a 17-point deficit in a 79-72 victory over the Bears at Stopher Gym, surging late in the second half to clinch the eventual seven-point win. Individually, senior Elvis Harvey Jr. and redshirt junior Andre Jones posted dominant performances, combining for 44 points, 11 boards and six assists as each broke the 20-point plateau, a first for both at the time against Division I opponents this season.

- This year's roster is highlighted by five newcomers, as redshirt senior G D'Angelo Hunter (West Virginia), redshirt junior G Andre Jones (Arkansas-Little Rock) & redshirt senior G Dexter McClanahan (Savannah State) all became eligible following transfers from fellow collegiate programs while sophomore G Lorenzo McGhee (Columbia State CC) climbed aboard via a JUCO program & freshman G Tyrease Terrell signed on directly from high school. On the bench, senior F Jaylen Fornes (UNC-Wilmington), redshirt sophomore F Najee Garvin (Charlotte) &Â redshirt sophomore G Isaac Johnson (Western Illinois) will sit out due to NCAA Transfer Restrictions.
