THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University women's tennis team fell short in a singles match against Richmond, falling to the Spiders 6-0 Tuesday afternoon at the Colonel Tennis Complex.
The teams decided to not play doubles and Richmond (5-5) claimed all six singles matches. Although Nicholls (1-11) did record a point for the second straight match, three of the losses were in three sets.
Carla Bouygues and
Morgan Forshag each earned victories in their respective first sets on court 4 and 5, but would be ousted 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 and 2-6, 7-5, 7-6 (2).
Simona Maksimovic evened her match at No. 3 with a win in the second before falling to Kiana Marshall, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3.

The Colonels will host another nonconference match Thursday as they take on Illinois State. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
