COVINGTON, La. -- Less than a week removed from scoring the program's first-ever victory, the Nicholls State University beach volleyball program (1-3, 0-0 SLC) looks to build some early-season momentum with a positive showing at the New Orleans Beach Volleyball Invitational, squaring off with Spring Hill College and Louisiana-Monroe on Friday, Mar. 6 before battling fellow Southland members Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and New Orleans to wrap up the tournament on Saturday, Mar. 7.
In last weekend's Blazer Beach Bash, the Red & Gray managed to sweep Eastern Kentucky in the squad's Saturday initial match, securing the program's first-ever win since adding the sport in Spring 2019. All five Colonel pairings proved too much for EKU, never dropping a set throughout the contest.
