FRISCO, Texas – The Nicholls State University beach volleyball team had five representatives on the 2026 Southland Conference all-academic team as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.
The five Colonels to make the all-academic squad were freshman
Ariana Matallana, sophomores
Claire Reed and
Addison Prine and juniors
Brooklynn Wilkinson and
Tierney Terrell.
Mattallana is a nursing student who posted a 3.90 GPA and a 13-16 record on the season.
Reed is a chemistry major who holds a 4.00 GPA and finished the season 11-16 overall.
Prine is a health science major who holds a 3.74 GPA and finished the season 13-16 overall.
Terrell is a psychology major who posted a 3.79 GPA and went 13-16 alongside Prine.
Wilkinson is a marketing major and has a 3.41 GPA and she finished 9-12 this season.
The all-academic team is selected by a head coach, sports information director and an academic/compliance staff member from each Southland Conference institution. Student-athletes must possess a 3.25 cumulative GPA and completed one full academic year at the nominating institution to qualify for All-Academic selection. Student-Athlete of the Year nominees must have earned at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and demonstrated athletics achievement for at least two years at the nominating institution.
