THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University women's basketball team will play its final road contest of the regular season as the Colonels take on the University of New Orleans Saturday in Lakefront Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
 
Nicholls (8-13, 7-7 SLC) dropped back-to-back home games for the first time this season, falling to HBU on Wednesday, 61-50. The matchup marked the third contest in five days for the Colonels, starting with the other home setback on Saturday against Central Arkansas. The Red and Gray was able to pick up its second road league win, rallying Monday for a comeback victory against Northwestern State.
 
Chelsea Cain scored 15 against HBU and has led Nicholls in scoring in the last five games. On the season, she ranks second in the Southland Conference at 17.2 points per game. Cain poured in 19 points in the win over New Orleans earlier this season. 
 
Anna McKendree has emerged as the No. 2 scorer, averaging 10.1 points per game. Before going 0-for-4 from the field against HBU, McKendree had scored in double figures in seven of the last eight contests. 
 
Chyna Allen (9.3 ppg) and Adrian Mann (8.5) are close behind at third and fourth in scoring. Mann finished a rebound shy of a double-double against HBU with 13 points and nine rebounds. 
 
New Orleans (5-13, 2-10 SLC) recently snapped a five-game losing skid with a win over McNeese, but fell in its last time out, 66-53, against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
 
Thibodaux native Dionjhae Thomas leads the Privateers with 11.6 points per game. Mary Delgado is second at 10.3 points and is coming off a 20-point game in the loss against the Islanders.
