CONWAY, Ark. -- Despite back-to-back notable defensive performances -- including a 10-player hold throughout a majority of Sunday's match -- the Nicholls State University women's soccer program (0-6, 0-3 SLC) faltered in a pair of competitive Southland road matches at Northwestern State (5-0, 3-0 SLC) and Central Arkansas (11-3-1, 2-1-0) over the weekend, initially dropping a 2-0 contest to the Lady Demons late Friday evening before battling the Bears to at 1-0 loss on Sunday afternoon.

KEY STORYLINES & STATISTICS
-- The Colonels opened up the two-game road stretch with a strong showing at league leader Northwestern State, holding the Lady Demons to just one goal through the first 87 minutes and just 18 shots -- eight on goal -- overall. In Sunday's clash at Central Arkansas, the Bears' lone goal came in the 31' following a red card by Caryn Bonadona inside the box, resulting in a penalty kick goal; even one player short, the Red & Gray kept the UCA offense completely in check for just under 60 minutes of play, surrendering just 17 shots with six coming on goal for the match.
-- Between the posts, freshman Reagan Carter logged another pair of solid outings in her fifth and sixth starts of the year, snaring 11 total saves across the two-game span and giving up the three goals.
-- Offensively, freshman Gabrielle Champagne notched two of the team's three shots-on-goal while senior Hannah Bodron registered the other.

With the weekend roadtrip concluded, the Red & Gray return home for a pair of make-up matchups against Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston, hosting the Ladyjacks on Friday, Mar. 5 before squaring off with the Bearkats later that weekend on Sunday, Mar. 7.
