THIBODAUX, La. -- Fresh off the team's first victory of the season this past Saturday against Lamar, the Nicholls State University women's volleyball program (1-8, 1-7 SLC) aims to carry the positive momentum into the final weekend of home competition against Southland adversaries Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (7-4, 5-3 SLC) and Sam Houston (7-1, 7-1 SLC), hosting the Islanders on Thursday, Mar. 18 (7 p.m. first serve) before matching wits with the Bearkats on Saturday, Mar. 20 (11 a.m. first serve).

• Kallie Noble remains in her second season leading the Colonels, and currently sports a 12-24 (6-16) overall record with the Red & Gray.
• The team boasts four seniors: S Meghan Wozniak, MB Lydia Frederick, OH Kate Hoerdemann and OH Olivia Turner.
• This year's roster is highlighted by four newcomers, as senior OH Olivia Turner (Northern Arizona) and junior MB Nina Finderle (Polk State) joined the program as transfers while freshmen MB Jhayla Bolden and RS Yani Johnson signed on directly from high school.
• This season's depth chart features five players from across the state of Louisiana, three out of Texas, a pair from Illinois and one from each of the following: Arizona, Georgia, Indiana, Missouri and even Croatia.
• The Colonels were projected to finish 10th in the Southland Conference, per the league's preseason poll.
• Nicholls returns five of last season's seven starters, including seniors S Meghan Wozniak and OH Kate Hoerdemann along with juniors OH Emily Gauthreaux, MB Aaliyah Burras and RS/OH Katie Jones.

UP NEXT
After wrapping up the season's home schedule, the Colonels close out the year with back-to-back road contests at Central Arkansas and Northwestern State, facing the Sugar Bears on Thursday, Mar. 25 up in Conway, Ark. before heading south to Natchitoches, La. for a clash with the Lady Demons.
