HAMMOND, La. -- Following a well-deserved two-week break, the Nicholls State University track & field program closed out pre-SLC Championships prep on Saturday behind a strong performance at the Southeastern Conference Tune-Up, a one-day outdoor meet at the Southeastern Track Complex in Hammond, La.

KEY STORYLINES & FINISHES

Lara Reifers posted a competitive weekend in the steeplechase, securing second all-time in the program record books as well as 11th in the Southland. Additionally,
Skyler Goodman notched a solid outing in her first steeplechase ever, claiming fifth in school history for the event.
 -- For the meet, the Red & Gray compiled 28 Top 10 finishes, including:
Donnell Adair (10th) in the men's 100m Dash;
Keiondra Narcisse (6th),
Omo Oboh (9th) and
Rami Mitchell (10th) in the women's 100m Dash;
Troynae Walker (6th) and
Amiya Matthews (7th) in the women's 100m Hurdles;

 -- The Colonels locked down multiple new personal marks as well, including: Joseph in 200m (25:77); Maye in 400m (58.52); Matthews in 800m (2:32.72);
Willow Johnson in 1500m (5:56.26); Adair in Discuss Throw (46.35m); Grooms in 800m (2:05.27); Worley in 800m (2:06.60) and 1500m (4:15.19); Livingston in 1500m (4:09.12); Blanchard in 3000m Steeplechase (11:23.52); and Wager in 3000m Steeplechase (11:57.39).
UP NEXT
With preparations for the season's final stretch wrapped up, the Colonels pack their bags and head out to Humble, Texas for the Southland Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, slated across a two-day span from Saturday, May 15 through Sunday, May 16.
