BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Nicholls State University men's and women's track and field teams concluded the 2026 indoor season at the Southland Conference Championships on last week.
 
Nicholls performance was highlighted by Iradi Blasco who earned the bronze medal in the women's high jump with a 1.69m leap. This was her fourth top five finish of the season including a victory at the Samford Bulldog Invitational earlier in the month.
 
The Colonels' other points came in distance races on the track. Issy Rivault placed eighth in the women's 5000m race after clocking a time of 17:23.68. Rivault later teamed up with Anne De Jong, Isabelle Seijlhouwer, and Iyauna Vicks to clock a time of 12:11.89 to place eighth in the women's 4000m distance medley.

Nicholls will begin the 2026 outdoor season at the Louisiana Classic in Lafayette on March 20-21.
