BATON ROUGE, La. - The Nicholls State University women's and men's track programs began its 2022 indoor season Friday in the LSU Purple Tiger, hosted at the Carl Maddox Field House.
For the men, Miles Kanipe and
Amari Godette highlighted the day with a pair of first-place finishes. Kanipe took the 3000-meter with a 9:04.98 while Godette clocked a 22.89 in the 200-meter.
In the field events, Chris Tucker had the second longest mark in the long jump at 6.74 meters.
The women had three runners compete against each other in the 200-meter, with
Kiara Bethley taking first with a 26.75.
Keiondra Narcisse finished second (27.20) and was followed by
Hailey Alcorn (27.24).
Megan Nevlud fell one-hundredth of a second short of claiming the title in the 800-meter at 2:26.74.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Omo Oboh placed third behind a pair of LSU Tigers with a 9.22.
