THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University men's tennis team started its 2022 home spring slate with a 7-0 victory against Prairie View A&M Sunday afternoon at the Colonel Tennis Complex.
Nicholls (2-0) took the doubles point after two hard-fought wins, then won five of the six singles matches in straight sets.Â
Pavle Drobnjakovic won both of his sets, 6-0, at No. 5 while
Nicola Wehrle also had a shutout before winning via retirement. Piyuah Surendra Salekar nearly notched a shutout as well on the No. 3 court.Â

Prasanna Pravin Bagade came out victorious in the other three singles matches.Â
 Morsy and
Antonio Sasso highlighted doubles play with a 6-2 win. Salekar and Wehrle took the top line with a 7-2 win in a tiebreaker, while
Griffin Babineaux and
Ricardo Machado claimed their tiebreaker, 8-6.Â
