THIBODAUX, La. - With only four matches remaining in the regular season, the next three for the Nicholls State University women's soccer team will be at home as the Colonels host two matches at the Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex for Senior Day Weekend.

Nicholls will welcome UIW Friday for a 7 p.m. match before hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 1 p.m. for Senior Day Sunday. Friday's match will serve as the program's annual Pink Game to help raise breast cancer awareness. 

Both Nicholls (2-12-1, 0-8 SLC) and UIW (2-7-3, 1-4-3 SLC) are looking to climb out of the bottom of the SLC standings as the Colonels are in last with the Cardinals a spot ahead of them. Nicholls has one win all-time against UIW but it came back in 2014. The visitors have won the last eight and have a 9-1 advantage in the all-time series.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi is in a battle for first place at 4-2-1 in conference and 7-4-1 overall, but will need someone to knock off league-leader Lamar which has only one loss in Southland play. The Islanders and Colonels have had a more competitive all-time series at 5-5-1; however, Nicholls won the first five meetings from 2014-17 before dropping five of the last six. The only non loss was a 0-0 tie in the spring '21 season.

The Colonel offense has two goals in conference play, with one coming in the earlier matchup against the Islanders. Shelby Nickal scored a goal to even the score at 1-1 before the Islanders eventually took the decision, 3-1. 

SENIOR DAY
Before the match on Sunday, Nicholls will recognize four seniors for the 2022 Class -- Reagan Carter, Karina Gonzalez, Madison McReynolds, and Rami Mitchell.
