THIBODAUX, La. - Still seeking a league victory, the Nicholls State University women's soccer team will have two road tests this weekend as the Colonels take on HCU and Northwestern State.

HCU's Friday match is slated for 5 p.m. and will air on ESPN+. Sunday's contest against the Lady Demons is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Nicholls (2-10-1, 0-6 SLC) is one of two teams in the Southland without a conference victory but UIW is ahead in the standings at 0-4-2. HCU (2-2-1) and Northwestern State (2-2-2) each have a pair of triumphs to go along with two losses and one and two ties, respectively. 

The Colonels have not had much success historically against either program. HCU holds a 10-1 advantage in the series with the Colonels' lone win coming in 2013. The Huskies claimed the next nine meetings which included three victories in 2021 by a combined score of 13-0. 

Northwestern State has a sizable advantage in the all-time series at 28-2-2. Nicholls had a stretch from 2015-17 where it won two matches and earned a tie.

In six league games, Nicholls has two goals with Shelby Nickal and Avery Mondoux each scoring one on the road. HCU has totaled seven goals in its five Southland contests while NSU is averaging 1.0 goal per league match.
