THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University (2-1) women's basketball team will host Grand Canyon University (2-0) on Friday, November 17 inside Stopher Gym at 6 p.m.
The Colonels return home after dropping their first road game of the season 69-40 to UAB on Tuesday night.
The Red & Gray offense features three double-digit scores, with freshman
Lexi Alexander leading the way with 14.7 points per game. She also leads the squad in rebounds (7.7), and blocks (1.7).
The second leading scorer for the Colonels is sophomore forward
Deonna Brister who averages 11 points and 4.7 boards a game, while junior guard
Kyla Hamilton pours in 10 points a game along with four rebounds and 1.7 assists.

Amelia Sandie round out the Nicholls scoring with 8.7 and 6.7 points per contest.
The Antelopes come into the matchup with four players averaging double-digit points. Sophomore guard Naudia Evans leads the team with 12 points a night, while junior forward Tiarra Brown and graduate student center Evan Zars add 11.5 apiece. Sophomore guard Aaliyah Collins scores 10.5 points a game.
Collins and Evans also dish out a combined nine assists a night, and Brown and Zars bring down eight and six and a half boards, respectively.
GCU also has a stout defense with nine individuals that average at least one and a half steals per game. The trio of Brown, Collins, and Zars rack up 9.5 steals per game.
