BATON ROUGE, La. - The Nicholls State University men's tennis team took Purdue and LSU over the weekend and was defeated 6-1 and 4-0 at the LSU Tennis Complex.
The Colonels (2-3) were able to claim a point against Purdue (3-4) on Saturday as
Antonio Sasso won on Court 6, 6-4, 6-3, against Piotr Galus. Nicholls also had close matches on the top 2 courts but could not win a set.
Omar Morsy fell 7-6 (7-3) in his opening set at 1 and
Ricardo Machado dropped his first, 7-5.
On Sunday against LSU, Nicholls fell short in the two completed doubles matches and on three singles courts.
Prasanna Pravin Bagade,
Griffin Babineaux and
Omar Morsy recorded the closest scores with 6-3 losses in their first sets.

Nicholls will head to South Alabama on Thursday, Feb. 17. First ball is scheduled for 2 p.m.
