BATON ROUGE, La. - The Nicholls State University women's and men's track programs returned to Baton Rouge Friday, competing in the LSU Bayou Bengal at the Carl Maddox Field House.
For the women,
Julia Garcia Verges placed eighth on the program's all-time performers list in the 800-meter with a 1:48.43. Tabea Czech,
Summer Seal and Ester Hardardottir followed with personal bests.
Elsa Rijpstra and
Lara Reifers also cracked the top 10 list in the mile, clocking times of 5:07.77 and 5:07.98, respectively.
On the men's side, the Colonels also had a strong performance in the mile. Randy Canady placed fourth behind three LSU Tigers, finishing with a personal-record 4:24.82. Miles Kanipe had a season best 4:27.48 while
Preston Whisenhunt set his PR with a 4:27.85.
Amari Godette rounded out the top performers by placing second in the 200-meter with a 22.41.
