ELMWOOD, La. - The tandem of
Katie Jones and
Kate Hoerdemann had a strong showing for the Nicholls Beach Volleyball Team in the Tulane Classic, going to three sets in three of their five matches which included the Sandy Colonels' first point of the season.
Nicholls (0-12) started off the weekend with a 4-1 loss to New Orleans where Jones and Hoerdemann won on the No. 4 court, 21-18, 19-21, 17-15, over Taylore Louviere and LIz Gialanella. The duo also won the first set against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and the second against Southern Miss, but came up short in securing another point.
Kylie Lockhart and
Devon Bright also claimed a first-set against HBU before being outlasted on the No. 1 court. The Colonels lost to the Huskies, 5-0, and fell by the same score to the Islanders, Tulane, and Southern Miss.
