NEW ORLEANS - The Nicholls State University women's tennis team fell 4-1 in an early afternoon matchup against Tulane Wednesday at the City Park Tennis Center.
For the second straight match, Nicholls (9-6) struggled in doubles play falling 6-1 in both completed sets. Tulane (8-6) then took courts 4 and 1 in singles before
Sophia Sara Safarova claimed a straight-set victory for the Colonels at No. 2.
But the Wave clinched the match with a win at 6 as Brooke Theis defeated
Morgan Forshag, 6-3, 6-2.
Jessie Mount won a set in her match at No. 3 and was tied at a set each before play was suspended.
Carla Bouygues dropped her opening set but was tied 4-4 in the second.

The Colonels are back in league play this weekend, hosting McNeese on Sunday, March 27. First ball at the Colonel Tennis Complex is scheduled for 11 a.m.
