THIBODAUX, La. -- The Nicholls Track & Field/Cross Country program will hold its 5th Annual Colonel 5k, set for Saturday, April 30 at 7 a.m. across a course spanning the Nicholls State University campus.
Early registration is still open for $25 (w/ a t-shirt guaranteed by registering by Thursday, April 14). All proceeds raised benefit Nicholls Track & Field and Cross Country. If you or your company are interested in joining as a Premier Donor or Donor, please contact

"We are excited to host our 5th Annual Colonel 5k back in April after two years of being virtual or an alternate date due to COVID," Coach Stefanie Slekis said. "Our team is looking forward to being a part of the event again and will be along the course cheering on our participants like the first two years of this event. The Colonel 5k is the opportunity for our track & field team to host local community members and alumni on campus as they run or walk the course since we do not have a spring semester home contest. Our student-athletes enjoy hosting this fun, flat, fast 5k where many of our distance student-athletes run a similar route to this race at various practices throughout the year."
Prize packages will be awarded to top Male & Female overall finishers and top Male & Female masters finishers in addition to medals featuring this year's design. Male and Female age group winners will be recognized with medals featuring this year's race design as well.
Race Day Registration is available for $30, but race t-shirts are not guaranteed.
