Dixon signs NFL Free Agent deal with Saints

NEW ORLEANS - Former Nicholls State University football standout wide receiver Dai'Jean Dixon has signed a rookie free agent contract with the New Orleans Saints, as the team announced Sunday its list of 17 undrafted free agents following the conclusion of the 2022 NFL Draft.

A native of New Orleans and graduate of Edna Karr, Dixon spent five seasons at Nicholls where he re-wrote the record books. Playing in 51 career games, Dixon totaled 3,802 yards receiving and 35 touchdown catches on 236 receptions -- all program records. He also set the marks for most 100-yard games (13), points scored (216), and is the only Colonel in school history to have two 1,000-yard seasons.

After not catching a pass in his first career game, Dixon hauled in at least one reception in 50 straight contests -- two shy of matching Los Angeles Rams Cooper Kupp's FCS record of 52.

Dixon ended his career with a third consecutive All-Southland First Team selection and was named to five All-American teams in his final season. He also played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl where he shined with six receptions for a game-high 131 yards and one touchdown.
