WAIPAHU, Hawai'i - The Nicholls State University women's soccer team allowed a goal in the 16th minute against Hawai'i and despite seeing a significant disadvantage in shots, the Colonels dropped a third one-goal decision in a 1-0 loss Sunday evening to close out The Outrigger Soccer Kickoff. 

Hawai'i (2-1) fired off 21 shots in the victory, but the lone to find the back of the net came early off the foot of Krista Peterson. Nicholls (0-3-1) was limited to a shot in each half as the Red and Gray were shutout for the third consecutive contest.

Reagan Carter saw all 90 minutes at goalkeeper, totaling six saves including five before the intermission. Of the 21 shots by the Rainbow Wahine, seven were on target. 

Kaitlyn Poirrier accounted for a shot on goal in the first half for the Colonels while Karina Gonzalez had the other following the break.

Nicholls will fly back to the mainland for a Tuesday contest against UC Irvine scheduled for 9 p.m.
