THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University soccer team will look to secure its first league win as the Colonels travel to McNeese on Friday before hosting conference newcomer Texas A&M-Commerce on Sunday at the Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex.

Nicholls (2-8-1, 0-4 SLC) has lost the last 10 matches against McNeese (3-5-1, 1-2-1 SLC) including a 4-0 contest earlier this season in Thibodaux. The match was at 1-0 through 70 minutes before the Cowgirls scored three late goals for their lone Southland victory.

The Colonels were able to score their second goal on the road this season last weekend but came away with a pair of defeats. Shelby Nickal scored in the 3-1 loss at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi but the offense was shutout at home against first-place Lamar. 

Texas A&M-Commerce (2-6-1, 2-2 SLC) has dropped its last two games after starting its Southland debut with win over McNeese and Houston Christian. The Lions fell to Lamar, 3-1, before a 4-1 setback against Northwestern State.
