CORPUS CHRIST, Texas – The Nicholls State volleyball team fell 3-0 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi inside the Dugan Wellness Center on Saturday afternoon.
In the first set, the Islanders went on two separate eight-point scoring surges to coast to a 25-8 win.
In the next frame, the Islanders scored nine of the final 13 points to win the set 25-12.
In the third stanza the Colonels fought hard until three different three-point runs gave the Islanders some momentum as they won the set, 25-20.
The Colonel attack was spearheaded by freshman outside hitter
Gracie Campbell who had nine kills.
The offense was run by freshman setter
Berra Soyler who finished the contest with 17 assists.
Defensively, junior libero
Rae Leano led the unit with 11 digs followed by freshman outside hitter
Tierney Terrell who tallied 10.
