THIBODAUX, La - The Nicholls State University soccer team heads on the road again for their last two away games of the 2023 season. First, the Colonels will play Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday, Oct. 20, followed by a trip to Southeastern on Sunday, Oct. 22.
Their first opponent, Texas A&M-Commerce, come into the match with a 7-6-2 record, with a 5-1-1 record in conference. The last game the Lions played was a nail-biter against Lamar University, the battle between the top two teams in the conference ended in a tie (2-2). The last time the Colonels faced Texas A&M-Commerce the Red & Gray lost 1-2, with the sole goal being scored by senior forward
Koryn Barrett.
The Colonels will then prepare to take on Southeastern for the Crystal Cup in Hammond. The last time the Colonels beat Southeastern was in 2014. The previous match-up saw Southeastern advance victorious 2-0. Southeastern holds a 3-4-1 Southland conference record currently.
