HOUSTON, Texas – The Nicholls State University women's volleyball team fell 3-0 in the final regular season contest to Houston Christian inside Sharp gym on Saturday afternoon.
In the first set, the Colonels jumped out to a 6-2 advantage before a five-point surge by HCU tied the action at 9. The teams traded points until another five-point run gave the Huskies a 18-14 lead. HCU finished the set with two more runs to win it 25-18.
In the second frame, the Huskies went on a six-point run to create a cushion, but the Colonels responded with a run later in the set to tie things up at 19. After that, the teams traded points until the Huskies outlasted the Colonels 27-25 in dramatic fashion.
Despite going on a 7-2 surge at one point, the Colonels were unable to stop HCU's momentum and dropped the third stanza, 25-18.

Gracie Campbell stuffed the stat sheet with 10 kills and 14 digs to claim her 7th double-double of the season.

Autumn Perry tallied seven kills apiece, while senior middle blocker
Jhayla Bolden and sophomore middle blocker Paris Dixion combined for 10 kills and five blocks.
The Colonel offense was paced by setters
Kendall Battistella and
Berra Soyler who had 12 and 11 assists, respectively.
