Devonte' Mathews picked up their second weekly honor as both were named Louisiana Sports Writers Association Players of the Week.
The duo was previously named SLC Players of the Week after their performances in the win over UIW in the battle of the Southland unbeatens.
Guggenheim posted his second 100-yard game of the season, as well as his second four-touchdown effort, to helped the Colonels take down UIW. He rushed for 153 yards and had touchdown runs of 5, 6, 3 and 43 yards. The Colonel offense piled up 331 yards rushing, helped by
Jaylon Spears' career-high 160 yards.
Mathews was a part of two of the defense's three turnovers against the Cardinals. Mathews scooped up a fumble and returned it 58 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter and then closed out the game with an interception.
