BATON ROUGE, La. - The Nicholls State University track program wrapped up its second outdoor event of the season on Saturday, taking part in the LSU Battle on the Bayou at Bernie Moore Track Stadium.
For the women's team,
Maryse Mbenoun shaved three seconds off her personal best in the 800m with a 2:15.32 and ranks No. 7 on the program's all-time performance list.
Nia Maye also had a breakthrough day with a personal best in the 200m of 25.46 and a sub 57 seconds in the 400m anchor split on the relay.
In distance,
Ceren Yilmaz became the No. 7 all-time performer in the women's outdoor 3000m with a an 11:02.95.
For the Colonel men's squad, the 4x100m relay team competed in the event for the first time in 20 years as
Anthony Landry,
Terrell Carter,
Zeke Bourgeois, and
Amari Godette were only .44 seconds away from the school record. In the javelin,
Ryan Nicholls placed third with a personal-best 47.88m.
