THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University women's soccer team will host Jackson State University on Friday, Sept. 1 and Texas Southern University on Sunday Sept. 3 at Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex.
The Colonels (0-4) return home seeking its first win of the season after falling to Tarleton and Abilene Christian last weekend. In Friday's match against the Texans the Red & Gray posted a season high eight shots but was unable to find the back of the net.
JSU (0-2) was clipped by Southern Illinois and Murray State, while TSU (0-4) was beaten by St. Mary's, Rice, ACU, and fellow Stoutland foe Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Nicholls holds a 6-2-1 all-time record against JSU after the Colonels' 1-0 victory last season extended their win streak to four over the Tigers. The Colonels won both match ups with TSU during a home-and-home series in 2008 and 2009 by a combined score, 12-2.
HONORING AINSLEY
Prior to kickoff on Friday night, the Nicholls Athletics Department will be honoring the late Ainsley Pratt, who played for the Colonels in 2014-16. The midfielder and former Nicholls SAAC President will have her #28 jersey retired.
UP NEXT
After battling the two Tigers, will hit the road for the final three non-conference bouts against Louisiana Tech, Southern Miss, and Southern.
