THIBODAUX, La - The Nicholls State University women's soccer team prepare for a pair of matches at Louisiana Tech University and the University Southern Mississippi after their first win of the season.
First, the Colonels will take on the Bulldogs in Ruston on Thursday, Sept. 7. The Red & Gray will then cross state lines to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to play the Golden Eagles on Sunday, Sept. 10, hoping to get a winning streak going.
The Colonels are coming off their first win of the season, beating Texas Southern 4-1. The game saw Junior
Lauren Andre score two goals to be named Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the first Colonel to earn an SLC weekly honor since 2019.

Kinga Koronkiewicz claimed the other two goals for the Red & Gray. In the win over the Tigers, the Colonels took their most shot attempts all season (20) and the four goals were the most they have registered in a win since Sept. 1, 2019.
LA Tech's overall record to start the season is 2-3-1, coming off two straight losses to Big 12 opponents Baylor (0-3) and Houston (1-7).
Southern Miss, carrying a 2-3 record, will face the Colonels after two top-25 match-ups. The first was against No. 22 Georgia, who defeated the Golden Eagles 0-4. Prior to playing the Colonels, Southern Miss will face No.5 Alabama, on Thursday, Sept. 7.
UP NEXT
The Colonels continue on the road, facing Southern University and then kicking off Southland Conference play at Houston Baptist, before they return home.
