THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University volleyball team will cross state lines to battle Texas A&M – Corpus Christi (Oct. 24) and UTRGV (Oct. 26).
Thursday's game from Corpus Christi will begin at 6:30 and will streamed via ESPN+ while Saturday's contest from Edinburg will begin at 2 pm and will also be on ESPN+.
The Colonels enter the week 7-11 overall after falling 0-3 to UIW last week. The Islanders are 11-8 and are on a seven-game winning streak and have not lost a set since Oct. 10. UTRGV is 10-8 and re boasting a four-game winning streak after picking up a pair of 3-1 victories last week.
The Red & Gray offense is spearheaded by
Leah Linares Castro who has 207 kills, followed by
Makila Billingsley (135) and
Tierney Terrell (138). The attack is paced by setters
Ava-Claire Calais and
Evelyn Trivino Espinosa who has 311 and 205 assists.
The Colonel defense is anchored by libero
Kenley Nonato who has 260 digs, followed by Terrell (166), and Calais (108). In the middle,
Jordan Gamble is a force at the net with 55 blocks while
Khara Morton and Billingsley add 37 and 24 blocks respectively.
