LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Nicholls State University women's soccer team was beaten 1-0 by McNeese in the final game of the season.
 
After playing a scoreless and competitive first half the Cowgirls scored the lone goal of the game when Bailee Ramirez found Isabelle Smith in front of the net five minutes into the second half.
 
The Red & Gray too six shots with all of them being on target. Senior forward Koryn Barrett took two while her classmates Lauren Andre, Peyton Bastine, Kori Ingram and Ryan Griep took one apiece.
 
Senior goalkeeper Megan Cook faced 15 shots and tallied five saves. The Colonels generated nine corner kicks including eight in the second stanza. The teams played a physical contest that featured a combined 22 fouls including a pair of Cowgirl yellow cards late in the action.
