THIBODAUX, La. - Robert Brown III scored 21 points to lead five Colonels in double figures as the Nicholls State University men's basketball team cruised to a 93-44 win over the Mississippi University for Women on Saturday at Stopher Gym.
Nicholls (1-2) saw its largest lead in the first half when Brown drained a three-pointer for a 43-18 advantage before the break. The Colonels led by as much as 51 in their first win of the season.
Jamal West Jr. and
Caleb Robinson each scored 13 points while
Jaylen Searles and
Sincere Malone had 12 each. Searles and
Byron Ireland both dished out four assists.
Nicholls shot 54 percent from the field and held MUW to 34 percent. The Colonels also forced 22 turnovers and had a 10-rebound advantage on the boards.
Chris Evans led the Owls with 11 points.
