Eli Ennis and offensive lineman
Evan Roussel were recognized for their stellar play this season as the Associated Press (AP) named Roussel a 2024 FCS All-American Second Team selection while Ennis garnered honorable mention.
In his fifth season with the Colonels at center, Roussel was voted as the Southland's top offensive lineman for his final campaign and was named All-SLC First Team for the fourth time. Roussel helped clear the way for five 100-yard rushing performances -- two each by
Collin Guggenheim and freshman
Miequle Brock, and one by
Corey Warren Jr.
Ennis shined in his first season at middle linebacker, being named a finalist for FCS Buck Buchanan Award while earning first-team All-SLC. He led the Colonels on defense with 111 tackles, which ranked third in the SLC with 9.3 per game. He also played a key role in the unit's high ranking in turnovers gained with three interceptions, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. One of Ennis' best games of the season came at LSU where he piled up 13 tackles.
