BATON ROUGE, La. – The Nicholls State track and field teams competed in the 2024 Keyth Tally Invitational hosted by LSU in Baton Rouge on Saturday, March 23. The Colonels tallied 14 individual top-20 marks against stout competition.
Sophomore
Gavin Windham posted the lone top-10 mark for the Red & Gray as he launched the javelin a person-best 52.08 meters to place ninth in the men's javelin throw. Sophomore
Sydney Brown leaped 11.53m to finished 11th in the women's triple jump. Junior Chris Tucker soared 6.89m to place 13th in the men's long jump.
In the sprints, junior
Amari Godette placed 14th in the men's 100-meter dash with a personal-best time of 10.43. He later claimed 16th place in the 200m race with a time of 21.23. Frehsman
Danya Satterfield ran the women's 100m hurdles in 14.49 seconds to place 19th while senior
Nia Maye finished 18th in the women's 200m (25.32). Freshman
Gavin White shined in the men's 110 hurdles as he placed 16th with a time of 15.59. Later, he ran the 400m hurdles in 1:00.39 to finish 12th. In the men's 400m, freshman Nisaiah Bennett placed 15th with a personal-best time of 50.74, while his classmate
Kamren Washington placed 20th after clocking 52.53.
In the women's 600m, freshman
Maria Nikolaou and sophomore
Andrea Tirado finished 13th and 14th, after recording times of 1:34.72 and 1:47.36, respectively. Freshman
Kassidy Besson ran a personal best 4:46.25 to place 16th in the women's 1500m.
