THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University beach volleyball team went 2-3 at the Beachburg Invitational, hosted by Southern Miss on March 29-30.
 
On Friday afternoon, the Colonels beat Loyola (3-2) and Spring Hill (3-2) after opening the day with a loss to USM (0-5), while on Saturday, Nicholls fell to Mobile (2-3) and USM (0-5).
 
In the Red & Gray victory over the Wolf Pack, Kennedi Steele/Shelby McGee won their first match as a pair. Bethanie Durant/Brooklynn Wilkinson earned their eighth win of the season, while Carleigh Breaux/Tierney Terrell picked up their eighth victory.

The contest against the Rams was highlighted by Bethanie Durant/Brooklynn Wilkinson's and Carleigh Breaux/Tierney Terrell who picked up their third victory of the weekend. The two pairings are the first to reach double figure wins this season.
