THIBODAUX, La. – After ending the regular season with a pair of victories, the Nicholls State University beach volleyball team will travel to Houston, Texas for the 2024 Southland Conference Tournament on April 19-21.
 
The action will be held at Third Coast Beach Volleyball Club. The Colonels will open the tournament against regular season champion Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Friday at 9 a.m.
 
After last weekend's wins over William Carey, the pairings of Bethanie Durant/Brooklynn Wilkinson and Carleigh Breaux/Tierney Terrell are now 12-18 on the year. Kennedi Steele/Shelby McGee earned their second and third victory if the season as a duo. McKay Wilson/McKenna Malone now have nine wins while Keira Heckel/Hailey Mason earned their first victory as a pair.
 
The Colonels played everyone in the conference at least once. Earlier this season at the SLC Roundup Wilson/Malone earned victories over UNO and HCU while Terrell/Breaux beat Southeastern. The Colonels split contests with McNeese. In the win over the Cowgirls, Kennedi Steele/ Aspen Steele and Durant/Wilkinson won their matches before Terrell/Breaux secured the Red & Gray victory by breaking a 2-2 tie. The Colonels dropped the second contest with the Cowgirls, but Wilson/Malone won their individual match.
