HAMMOND, La. – Cade Crosby hit a go ahead double in the 11th inning of the Nicholls State University baseball team's 8-7 victory over Southeastern on Pat Kennelly Diamond at Alumni Field on Friday night.
 
The Colonels rally in the final frame began with a Garrett Felix two out double to left field. Aaron Biediger was intentionally walked to bring Crosby to the plate who brought Felix around to put the Colonels on top.
 
After falling behind 5-4 after a Lions' two out home run in the seventh inning, MaCrae Kendrick flipped the script with a pinch hit two RBI home run with two down to put the Red & Gray up 6-5. SLU responded with an RBI single by Shea Thomas to tie the game at 6 in the bottom of the ninth.
 
In the 10th, Erick Ordonez put the Colonels back on top with a solo homer to left field before the Lions tied the contest again with a Jeremy Rader RBI base knock up the middle. After giving up the game tying run in the 10th, Devin Desandro responded by finishing the game with a strikeout and two fly outs in the 11th.
 
Desandro picked up a win to improve to 3-2 on the season. Starting pitcher Jacob Mayers struck out 10 batters in five innings and he was tabbed with no decision after giving up four runs on four hits. Nico Saltaformaggio went four innings and allowed five hits and two runs.
 
Crosby's heroic day began in the first stanza when he laced a three RBI double to right field to put the Colonels up 3-0. In the sixth, Crosby scored to tie the game via a Narvin Booker Jr. sacrifice fly.
