THIBODAUX, La—The Nicholls State University volleyball team will begin the 2024 campaign by playing three matches at the Alabama State Invitational in Montgomery, Alabama on Aug. 30-31.
 
The Red & Gray will play South Carolina State (9 a.m.) and ULM (4 p.m.) on Friday before playing host Alabama State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
 
The Colonels have four players returning from last season as the roster features 16 newcomers with eight of them being freshmen. The unit added six JUCO transfers and two Division I additions.
 
Last season, South Carolina State finished the season 1-28, ULM went 7-24 overall, while Alabama State finished the season 18-13 overall and posted a 16-0 conference record.
