THIBODAUX, La—The Nicholls State University volleyball team will welcome Grambling and Lamar to Stopher Gymnasium for the 2024 Colonel Classic on Sept. 5-6.
 
The Colonels home opener will be against the Tigers on Thursday at 6 p.m. Lamar and Grambling will play on Friday at 11 a.m. followed by a match between the Colonels and Cardinals at 2 p.m.
 
Last week, the Red & Gray picked up a pair of victories at the Alabama State Invitational to start the season 2-1. The Colonels began the season with a 3-1 win over South Carolina State and a 3-0 sweep of ULM, before falling to the host Hornets.
 
While the Colonels were in Mongomery, the Tigers began their season in Tuscaloosa at the Crimson Tide Invitational where they went 0-3 including a 2-3 loss to Alabama before sweeping Centenary on Tuesday night.
 
The Cardinals began the season with losses Norfolk State, Miami (OH), and Gardner-Webb before sweeping Prairie View A&M on Tuesday night.
