THIBODAUX, La—The Nicholls State University volleyball team had four players register double figure kills in their 3-1 victory over Grambling on Thursday night.
The Red & Gray attack that hit .412 and .429 in the third and fourth set was paced by
Ava-Claire Calais who finished with 28 assists.
Kathryn Manuel added eight assists and
Kenley Nonato and
Alivyah Peters had six apiece.
The Colonels offense was spearheaded by
Leah Linares Castro who tallied 17 kills, six digs, and three service aces.
Tierney Terrell posted 12 kills and a team-high 21 digs, while Mikila Billingsley also had a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs.
Olivia Lunt added 11 kills while
Jordan Gamble added six kills and four blocks.
Nonato and Calais finished with 15 and 10 digs respectively and the Colonels defense registered 12 blocks and held the Tigers to a .175 hitting percentage.
For Grambling, Essence Allen and Lauryn Bourne finished with 10 kills apiece while Kai Williams and Madison Reagins combined for 16.
