Nicholls Soccer Hosts HCU, Travels to SLU

THIBODAUX, La  -- The Nicholls State University women's soccer team will host Houston Christian (Oct. 9) at Thibodaux Regional Sports Complex before traveling to Hammond to battle Southeastern (Oct.12).
 
Nicholls enters the week 4-7-1, 1-3 SLC after suffering a 2-0 loss at East Texas A&M.
 
Avery Mondoux, who is one of six SLC players with at least five goals this season, is the Colonels points (11) and goals (5) leader followed by Mylea Riggle who has 10 points on four goals and two assists. Goalkeeper Aislinn Wright has been stout in net as she 54 saves in 12 starts. She has the eighth best save percentage in the SLC (.720).
 
HCU is 6-6-1, 1-2-1 SLC thus far after losing a home match 1-0 to UTRGV.
 
The Huskies point leader is Olivia Rossman who has two goals and three assists, followed by Isabella Dillow who has three goals. Cloe Baugh and Alexia Murillo add two assists apiece. The Huskeis have used multiple goalkeepers this season as Emmy McKoen has 42 saves in eight starts while Terra Rybuck has 15 saves in five starts.
 
Southeastern is 3-5-3, 2-1-1 SLC thus far after suffering a 2-1 loss at Northwestern State. SLU will play Lamar in Beaumont on Thursday before hosting the Colonels on Sunday.
 
The Lady Lions are led by Emma Ramsey who has three goals this season followed by Rylee Franklin and Alexandra Knight who have two goals apiece. Goalkeeper Kendall Curran has 57 saves while starting all 11 contests in net.
