FRISCO, Texas - Five members of the Nicholls State University football team garnered All-Southland as the league office announced Tuesday morning its all-conference teams and superlative awards for the 2025 season.
Headlining the honorees was defensive back
Ty Marsh who was named All-SLC First Team. Also on defense, linebacker
Jake Dalmado, and defensive backs
Ethan Lee and
Laurence Sullivan Jr. were selected to the second team. Running back
Miequle Brock Jr. rounded out the selections by being named second team on offense.
Marsh was part of a dynamic defensive backfield that helped Nicholls rank third in the FCS with 15 interceptions and ninth in passing yards allowed. He was third on the Colonels with 76 tackles and tied for the team lead with 7.5 tackles for loss. A one-time SLC Defensive Player of the Week, Marsh had two interceptions on the year and returned both for touchdowns.
Brock followed up his SLC Freshman of the Year campaign with his first all-league honor. A dual threat out of the backfield, Brock ranked ninth in the SLC with 555 yards rushing with two touchdowns and led Nicholls with 41 receptions for 340 and two scores. He also ranked seventh in the league with 82.1 all-purpose yards per game. Brock recorded his third career 100-yard game with 104 yards rushing against McNeese and also received SLC Offensive Player of the Week after racking up a total 121 yards and two touchdowns on 13 touches.
Dalmado received his second all-league nod in as many years since switching to defense. He totaled the sixth-most tackles in the SLC with 101 and led the Colonels with 7.5 TFLs which included 3.5 sacks. Dalmado chipped in with two forced fumbles and two recoveries as the defense ranked 13th in the FCS in turnovers gained.
Lee totaled 64 tackles with 2.5 TFLs in 10 games played at safety and ranked fifth in the Southland with three interceptions. He put together a stellar outing at league champion SFA with a career-high 14 tackles to go along with one interception.Â
Sullivan saw time at cornerback and safety, tying for first in the Southland with four interceptions which ranked 22nd in the FCS. For the season, he had 51 tackles with 2.0 TFLs and tallied three pass breakups. Sullivan also recorded two forced fumbles, one recovery, and blocked an extra point.Â
Conference champion Stephen F. Austin led all programs with 15 All-Conference selections, including nine first-team honorees. Lamar followed with 10 selections, while Southeastern  earned nine. UTRGV, Nicholls, and East Texas A&M each collected five All-Conference honorees, with McNeese and UIW earning four apiece, and HCU adding two selections.
