THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University women's volleyball team utilized efficient offense and stout defense to sweep McNeese 3-0 inside Stopher Gym on Saturday afternoon.
 
Nicholls' offense was efficient as the squad posted its best hitting percentage (.336) since the start of league competition. The Colonels tallied 47 kills and 11 errors while hitting over .300 in all three sets. The Red & Gray defense was stout as McNeese registered 21 errors and finished with a .099 hitting percentage.
 
The Colonels' attack was paced effortlessly by setter Isabella Padilla who dished 40 assists as four of her teammates finished with at least six kills. Tamara Chavez led the way with 15 kills while hitting a team best .481 from the floor. Tierney Terrell finished with 11 kills while Harper Holden and Neriah Tualaulelei-Malele tallied seven and six kills, respectively.
 
The Red & Gray defense featured three individuals with double figure digs. Olivia Besson led the unit with 12 digs while Ava-Claire Calais and Karina Smith had 11 apiece. Terrell finished the contest one dig shy of a double-double and Padilla chipped in with six digs along with four kills. At the net, Holden had two solo blocks and two block assists.
