THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University men's basketball team scored 67 points in the second half as the Colonels breezed past College of Biblical Studies, 117-49, in their lone home nonconference game Wednesday night on Broussard Court at Stopher Gymnasium.
Nicholls (2-7) led 50-23 at the break before outscoring the Ambassadors 67-26 in the second half. The 117 points was the most for the program since 2021.
Zaiden Cross led all scorers with 20 points while
Zee Hamoda was 4 of 7 from three-point range and totaled 16 points.
Jalin Rice and
Kevin Pazmino each added 15 points while
Jaylen Searles and
Jalik Dunkley finished with 14.
Nicholls shot 49 percent while holding CBS to 35 percent, but the major difference in the game was turnovers and rebounds. The Colonels collected 19 steals on 29 turnovers and had a 38-4 advantage in points off turnovers. On the glass, Nicholls had a 56-28 margin with
Domanic Betancourt finishing with a game-high 12.
Searles led the offense with five assists and Pazmino scored all 15 of his points on 5 of 11 from three-point range. Cross paced the defense with six steals.

Nicholls will return to Southland play next Wednesday (Dec. 17) against HCU. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
