THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University women's basketball team will hit the road to battle New Orleans (Feb. 13) and Southeastern (Feb. 15).
Last week, Nicholls (15-8, 8-6 SLC) had their five-game winning streak snapped as they suffered a pair of losses to Northwestern State (68-60) and East Texas A&M (67-53). New Orleans (2-20, 2-11 SLC) is currently on a five-game losing streak after dropping last week's games at UIW (71-60) and HCU (54-49). Southeastern (20-3, 14-0 SLC) is the lone unbeaten team in the league after picking up victories over HCU (58-31) and UIW (62-43).
Nicholls has won the last two games against UNO as they won the first meeting this season and last season's third meeting in the SLC tournament. Before the two wins, the Colonels dropped five in a row but lead the series with the Privateers 17-12 dating back to 2007. The Colonels have been clipped by Southeastern nine consecutive times and trail the series 19-17 dating back to 2008.
